College Placement
There is no “best” school in Atlanta, and there certainly is not a “#1” college in the US for all students. Let all of the pollsters and experts who research various facts about universities say anything they want. The very “best” school is the one that makes your child academically successful in a nurturing environment that encourages him/her to face new challenges.
Since every student’s needs are different, it takes time and training to identify what will be the healthiest path for each individual student. If this philosophy is what you are looking for in an educational consultant, Grayson and I would love to assist you and your child along the way. — Lida Griest
Lida and Grayson have been assisting high school students and their families with college placement needs for decades. They are fully aware of how stressful and challenging this endeavor can be for a family — and especially — the high school student. Their training and years of experience are invaluable when it comes to guiding and motivating students through the application and essay process. Working with them, you’ll get the personal relationship and coaching that may be missing from other counselors. They truly care about helping both the students and their families!
Lida and Grayson make many annual college visits so they can give students their first-hand professional opinion of different colleges. They begin working with college placement students early in their 11th grade year, and spend the next two years guiding and nurturing their students through this extremely important time in their lives.
Their goal is to reduce family stress and anxiety, to make the process easier and more fun — and ultimately — to get students accepted at colleges they will absolutely love, and where they will thrive. There’s a great college fit for every student, and they can help you find it.
The comprehensive college counseling package includes (but is not limited to) the following services:
- Career and personality interest inventories
- Review of pertinent documentation (transcripts, report cards, psychoeducational evaluations)
- Creation of a working list of colleges
- Monitoring progress on SAT/ ACT
- Assistance with course selection
- Assistance with essays and applications
This is a student-centered process. The main goal is to help students find the college where they will thrive and to use the application process as an opportunity for student growth as they prepare for college.
