Visited October 2013. When I returned to Georgia Southern this fall, I saw a totally different campus than on my last visit. The academic quad on campus is called the “Fab 5”. These state-of-the-art buildings house the following colleges:
• Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Information Technology
• College of Business Administration
• College of Education
• College of Health and Human Sciences
• College of Science and Mathematics
(The College of Arts and Sciences is on another part of the campus.)
Some creative programs that are offered at Georgia Southern are Coastal Plain Studies, School of Human Ecology (includes fashion, interior design and merchandising), and the nursing school has one floor that is simulated exactly like a hospital with robots acting as patients; these robots can give birth and even die.
The campus of Georgia Southern is beautiful with lakes and fountains and a pedestrium, which is well-manicured paths throughout the campus.
This is a terrific university for the student who would like to go to a Georgia state school and wants something different from UGA and GA Tech.
