There is a lot of talk these days about the Honors Program at the University of Georgia. Many people wonder what is so special about it so I thought it would be helpful to highlight the primary advantages of being a part of UGA’s Honors Program.

The Honors Program was established in 1960, and today there are 2,500 students enrolled in the program. This year the program is offering 300 Honors classes with an average of 17 students in a class.  In addition to smaller classes, The Honors Program offers direct contact with professors, independent research opportunities, internships, and the option to reside in Myers Hall, which is the residential community for the Honors Program.

This year the Honors application will be available online on December 1, 2012, and the deadline for applying is February 1, 2013. If you think you qualify for the UGA Honors Program, be sure to get your application submitted on time.
