The last college that we visited on the COWS (Counselors Observing Wisconsin Schools) Tour was Marquette University. Marquette’s campus is very attractive, and its close proximity to downtown Milwaukee offers many cultural and internship opportunities for Marquette’s 8,000 undergraduates. Marquette is considered the premier Jesuit university in the Midwest; and as is the case with all Jesuit schools, Marquette’s focus on the four core values of excellence, faith, leadership and service challenges students to integrate knowledge, faith and real-life choices into their own life. It is interesting to note that 29 percent of undergraduate students are from Wisconsin, and 37 percent come from Illinois. If you are looking for a Jesuit university with strong academics and a true Midwest feeling, Marquette could be a great school for you.
Since the weather did not cooperate for us to take pictures, we were given a thumb-drive full of pictures of the campus. Here are a few of my favorite shots.
